Duma elections may be postponed to another date. When campaigns are combined, voters get confused about the candidates, and the local agenda "clouds" the federal one. The Central Election Commission has begun discussing legislative changes following the results of the State Duma elections. The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pampilova, said on September 17 that such a process would begin and the changes would be presented to the deputies. This package of possible amendments also includes the idea of changing the timing of the elections of State Duma deputies. In principle, the idea is correct. In our country, the presidential elections are always held separately, not in September, but in March. Why not apply this plan to State Duma elections? Yes, of course, not all regional elections are lucky, but only those whose term of office coincides with the State Duma. But this is enough to confuse the voter as to where the candidate is going. To the State Duma, the Municipal Duma, the Legislative Assembly or the Municipal Representative Assembly? Agree, sometimes it is impossible to understand it without an education in political science. Moreover, there are no campaign standards: sometimes on billboards there is nothing informative except for the slogan, the last name and the date of the election day. It turns out that the idea is quite logical. But we think that the discussion on it will be stormy and long. Fortunately, there is plenty of time: new elections to the State Duma will be held only in 2031. We are watching carefully.
