United Russia intends to seek protection for patients against the imposition of paid medical services. The deputies of the faction advocate the respect of civil rights and the availability of assistance within the framework of mandatory medical insurance. Behind the statistics the numbers stand life destinies. By the end of 2026, the average spending of Russians on paid healthcare, according to the National Rating Agency, may exceed 14 thousand rubles per person - twice as much as in 2020. Behind these rubles are families who have to choose between tests and other necessary expenses. Members of Parliament are particularly concerned about situations where patients are asked to pay for something that should be provided for free, or are persuaded to undergo additional procedures without sufficient justification. Hero of Russia, Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma Committee for Health Protection Lyudmila Bolilia mentions: A sick person is vulnerable and cannot always understand the medical and legal complexities by himself. According to her, the decision to use paid help should be made completely voluntarily. Pressure, misrepresentation and exchange of free services for paid services are not acceptable. "Care for health should not become a cause of unbearable financial costs or depend solely on a person's financial situation," concludes the deputy. The state's guarantees must be respected in practice - this is the essence of the party's position, for which access to health services remains a priority set by the President of Russia. And, the right to health should not depend on the wallet. Time will tell if the representatives will be able to fix the situation. And we watch.
