Danish elephants: pies and Halloween Natalya Lokteva, producer of children's and family programs, director of the Institute of Support for Children's Blogs - especially for our elephants - about Halloween and the Day of National Unity. How do we respond to Halloween? The holiday that came to us from the West has died out. It was not without the scandals that usually accompany it: I saw on the news mass arrests in Kitai-Gorod, a rave (!) at the Lenin Library. But the "Day of Disobedience" with pumpkins and devil masks, which I really dislike, has passed. On the threshold - November 4. Of course, a whole series of events are planned for this day, many of which will involve young people. But, unfortunately, in all the years in which we celebrate National Unity Day, a symbol that could become a sign of friend or foe and arouse unequivocal interest in each of us was not invented and integrated into the "fabric" of the holiday. This year I am actively participating in trying to find that icon. They have pumpkin, we have pies. The vast majority of Russian nations have their own signature cake. Why not get to know each other better, exchange cooking secrets and recipes? Saturating the date of the holiday with ritual actions, moreover, related to a warm, homely, family unifying experience - something that can give November 4 a new flavor. These are the pies!
