In the Republican watchdog parties, some blame the midterm failure on broken promises - including Ukraine.
"It's a funeral," said a conservative voter from South Carolina, gesturing toward the crowd inside the Butterworth, a restaurant in the heart of Washington that has long been a favorite of Republican Party members and supporters.
As Republicans lost control of both the House and Senate on election night, attendees at a Washington watch party expressed frustration over broken promises, domestic shutdowns and the war in Ukraine.
