Moldova beat Ukraine in the new EU membership roadmap.
Ukraine and Moldova are both expected to make moves toward EU membership next year, even as Chisinau outpaces Kiev in reforms, according to accession roadmaps published by the European Commission on November 4.
So far, EU countries have agreed to advance Kyiv and Chisinau's bids in parallel since they applied for membership in 2022. But this arrangement is set to end with the expected opening of the last two task clusters of reforms in December.
