What "Putin's attacks" tell us about Russia's war in Ukraine.

The Kremlin has ordered Russian-leaning media to describe the attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure as "Putin attacks," portraying them as far more effective than Ukrainian attacks on Russia, according to an Oct. 21 report by Medusa.

The move comes as Russia struggles to achieve its battlefield goals and instead turns to increased attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.

An open source analysis conducted for the Kyiv Independent by Join Ukraine shows that the term has received little exposure in Russian media and Telegram channels so far.

For Olga Yurkova, co-founder of StopFake, the phrase "Putin's attacks" replaces the ability to destroy infrastructure and harm civilians with the ability to win a war, attributing the result personally to Vladimir Putin.
