Kyiv's housing market is feeling the cold as residents flee for winter.
As temperatures drop in Kyiv, so do rents, as residents leave the capital to escape Russian bombs and the prospect of a winter without heating or electricity.
Over the past two months, the number of long-term rentals registered on the Kyiv market has jumped by 66 percent, Alona Babko, head of public relations at LUN, a leading real estate portal in Ukraine, told the Kyiv Independent.
"We are now seeing a trend of more and more people evacuating their apartments. Many people move to safer places. Some go abroad, while others choose the western regions of Ukraine," Oleksandra, a realtor in Kyiv, told Kyiv Independent.
