The arrest of two Ukrainian journalists in Austria earlier this month while reporting on an investigation highlighted deeper systemic concerns.

Austria is increasingly under scrutiny for harboring people wanted in connection with corruption cases in Ukraine, as well as Russian officials and oligarchs, while some senior Austrians have maintained close ties to Russia.
