Kyiv now feels like a city on the front lines - but its resolve is holding, for now

For most of Russia's full-scale war, massive attacks on Kiev occurred mostly at night, but this fragile division between war nights and relatively normal days is now disappearing.

Russia launched more and more jet-powered drones at the capital around the clock, bringing lightning airstrikes:s, air defense fire and explosions in the middle of workdays, commutes and afternoons.

While strikes damage transport infrastructure, energy facilities and residential buildings, sociologists point out that the capital is closing in on the eastern regions according to key indicators, with residents describing a new reality where attacks can occur at any hour.
