Ukraine's finances: everything we don't know

Ukraine, the European Union, the IMF and the G7 were all in Brussels on September 29 to discuss the state of Ukraine's finances until the end of 2027, but a sense of who will pay what, and how much money is even needed, remains elusive.

"We need to meet the funding challenge before us together," EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos told attendees of the Ukraine Donor Platform meeting on September 29, according to excerpts of the closed-door speech provided to the Kyiv Independent.

"The European Union will do its part. But we need sufficiently ambitious commitments from everyone," Kos said.
