Far-left presidential candidate Melanchon blames Ukraine's deep attacks for escalating the war

The leader of the extreme left of France, Jean-Luc Melenchon, published on September 23 a video of himself talking about Russia's war in Ukraine, with the accompanying message: "From day one we have condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine."

"Who can imagine that a country would allow its capital to be attacked and not give any response to such a situation?" Melanchon asked rhetorically, in what appeared to be a reference to Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow.
