The elections in Russia are over. Could the mobilization be next?

No one expected Russia's parliamentary election to wrest power from President Vladimir Putin, with preliminary results on September 21 showing the Kremlin-backed United Russia party winning again with nearly 58 percent of the vote.

Instead, the post-election question is whether, when, and in what form the Kremlin will launch a new wave of recruitment that Kiev has warned could follow the vote — and that Russia may eventually need to realize its war aims.
