There is one huge problem with Trump's Ukraine diesel price theory

A study by Ukraine's KSE Institute, partnered with the Financial Times, estimated that the US-Israeli war with Iran had a far greater impact on global diesel and fuel supplies than Ukrainian drone strikes, estimating exports from the Persian Gulf fell by 152 million barrels between March and August, compared to Russia's drop of 68 million barrels in the same period.

"The cumulative loss from the Persian Gulf was therefore 2.2 times greater," the report states.

"Most of the refined fuel produced in Russian refineries is used in Russia," Riley said, adding: "That's why the strategy of the Ukrainian armed forces makes so much sense."
