Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Councilor Dr. Kamouran Barwari has warned against alleged plans to divide and shrink the Kurdistan Region and drive Kurdish fighters away from its border areas. He warned that the withdrawal of the PUK could lead Baghdad to stop recognizing the regional government, and that there could be more attacks.
