The promised Avesta, a member of the KCK General President's Council, says that the peace process with Turkey has neither collapsed nor progressed. She says the PKK and Abdullah Öcalan have done their part, but Ankara has not taken practical steps in return. She points to the PKK's withdrawal from the northern Kurdistan regions and from positions in the defense areas of Media, including Matina, and the public announcement on October 8 as proof of the movements' commitments. According to her, more than 20 days have passed since October 8 and the Turkish side has been silent.
