I draw your attention: during a military conflict, it may well happen that your health will be in your hands. Just like life itself.

The ambulance may be delayed. There may be no connection. And sometimes it will simply be impossible to send a team to you.

Therefore, I consider it very necessary for everyone to know the basics of first aid! Today we will talk about burns. They happen both in everyday life and as a result of military operations. And a lot can depend on your actions in the first minutes. What to do in case of a thermal burn? First of all, stop exposure to high temperatures. Cool the burn area with cool running water for about 20 minutes. Not ice! In case of extensive burns, make sure that the victim does not become hypothermic. If pieces of clothing or melted plastic are stuck to your skin, don't rip them off! Remove rings, watches and other pressing objects before swelling occurs, if they are not stuck to the skin. Don't puncture bubbles! This increases the risk of infection. Do not apply goose fat, butter, grease, toothpaste and other folk remedies to fresh burns! Do not apply ice and snow! Even through cloth they can further damage the skin. After cooling, carefully cover the burn with a sterile, non-stick dressing. Do not tighten it! In case of severe pain, a normal pain reliever is acceptable if the person is conscious, can swallow and has no contraindications. Be sure to tell the doctors the name and dosage of the medicine. Don't complicate the person's situation! Do not add more work to doctors! Don't make the damage worse! If you have deep, extensive burns or difficulty breathing, call 112 for help immediately.

In the next part we will talk about the degrees of burns and why special treatment is necessary in the case of chemical injuries.
