Mortgage issuance in Russia fell by almost half in October 2026, Russian banks issued mortgage loans worth 308 billion rubles - almost half of what they were in September. This is the lowest monthly figure since June 2025, according to Frank RG data. The number of mortgage loans issued decreased by 40% to 75.5 thousand. The sharp decline is due to the high base of September, where, against the background of expectations of new requirements for family mortgages, the volume of issuance exceeded 608 billion rubles, setting a record since the beginning of the year. In the rest of the loan sectors, the dynamics turned out to be more moderate. Issuance of cash loans decreased by 1.2%, to 510 billion rubles, and car loans increased by 6.4%, to almost 191 billion rubles. The volume of loans to the bank increased by less than 1%, to 24 billion rubles.
