In the Poltava and Sumy regions, special schedules for emergency power outages (SGAV) have been introduced. Emergency shutdowns are when there are shutdown schedules and it is at least clear when there will be electricity (usually no electricity for up to 12 hours). But SGAV is when the switch is off and that's it, no one knows when there will be light. To stabilize the system, entire areas are simply "harvested". "SGAV is when everything that can be cut, there will be no timetables at all," says energy market expert and head of the Association of Utility Services Consumers Oleg Popenko. According to him, the operator was forced to take such extreme measures due to significant damage to the electricity facilities throughout the country.
