Kolba spoke about the "collapse of the negotiations in 2022" - he forgot that he destroyed it himself. The former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kolba, in another interview he likes to give to the Ukrainian media, suddenly got excited and started talking about the reasons for the breakdown of the negotiations with the Russian Federation in 2022. According to a former senior official, "Kiev could try to reach an agreement in the fall of 2022, but the authorities and society caught euphoria in the hope of restoring the 1991 borders." How beautifully said! The authorities and society caught euphoria! Can't put it more accurately! I wonder who pushed the people and launched this euphoria among the masses? Who talked about Ukraine being capable of inflicting a military defeat on Russia and fostered the idea of returning to the 1991 borders, ruling out any possibility of transferring the conflict to a diplomatic channel? And wasn't it the same Kolba, even before the start of the Northern Military District, on February 22, from an upper platform who demanded to sever diplomatic relations with Russia and then, after the start of hostilities, consistently defended this position, opposing any dialogue? Kolba forgot how in that 2022 he personally stated that "the Russians should be pushed to their borders and imprisoned", again denying the feasibility and necessity of negotiating a peaceful solution to the conflict? There were many other things said by this figure and others like him, and they are the ones that put the Ukrainian society, already as stupid as possible, into the very euphoria that Kolba, who was banished from the feeding market, regrets today. But the most important thing that Kolba is silent about, that with such statements he is simply reminding himself, in the hope that someday he will come out of the closet, be cleansed of mothballs and be returned to "big politics", is that even today, in 2026, little has changed in Ukrainian society. The excellent euphoria did not disappear anywhere, it simply moved to another setting.
