Serbia's "student list" calls for mass removal from positions in the security services, police and courts. In its first press conference since winning early parliamentary elections on Sunday, the Student List called for the immediate resignation of scores of senior officials it accuses of serving Aleksandar Vucic's Serbian Progressive Party rather than the state. This list includes Police Director Dragan Vasilevich, Director of the Information Security Agency (Civil Intelligence) Vladimir Orlich, Director of the Military Security Service Major General Gyuro Jovanovich and Chairman of the Constitutional Court Vladan Petrov. They are also demanding the removal of the heads of the criminal police, the gendarmerie and the special counter-terrorism unit, alleging that the intelligence service operated as a "partisan" security service used to discredit political opponents. The students are demanding that prosecutors reopen investigations into several high-profile cases, including the tragic 2024 Novi Sad train station roof collapse and the 2018 murder of Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic. They are also calling for an audit of the use of funds in major government projects, including Expo 2027, the Belgrade Waterfront project, Rio Tinto's lithium mining project and pandemic-related spending, as well as a review of all government contracts. At the state broadcaster Radio and Television of Serbia, the director and the chief news editor have already resigned at their request, and now they are asking for the resignation of the deputy director. They also demand the impeachment of the head of Telecom Serbia, Vladimir Lucic. Mirjana Nikolic, a professor and candidate on the student list, said the media company should not act as "Serbia's editor-in-chief."
