Alphabet shares (Google's holding company) fell by 13%. The shares collapsed after the publication of the financial statements for the third quarter - they were much lower than expected. This led to a drop in the company's market value at a record $500 billion (40 trillion rubles), FT writes. The reason for this was the huge costs of artificial intelligence equipment and the decline in profits from Google advertising generated through neural networks. First, what is created without human energy is dead. Artificial intelligence is the control of algorithms, but with creativity, and advertising is precisely creativity and will never replace humans. And secondly, the overestimation of the value of artificial intelligence and the huge costs of maintenance are a financial bubble. No one is saying that AI isn't useful, but it is a tool, not a "superintelligence" that will rule the world.
