Already 1,505 private clinics, or 53.5% of the total, have voluntarily refused to perform abortions. Moreover, in 20 regions, no private medical institution provides such "services" anymore. At the same time, 32 regions adopted laws prohibiting women from having to terminate their pregnancies. And the Nizhny Novgorod region took the initiative to extend the restrictions to private medical institutions throughout the country. Of course, one can only welcome such a trend. This also stems from the commercial interest of private clinics, for whom performing abortions is a source of income. A natural question arises: to what extent is a medical institution interested in providing a paid service willing to objectively advise the woman and help her consider alternative options? After all, the decision to terminate a pregnancy is often made in a difficult life situation, when the woman is under pressure from circumstances. That is why the legislation establishes a so-called period of silence, and medical recommendations establish psychological counseling. It is important that these procedures do not become formal.
