"KazAvtoZhol" and a syndicate of Kazakh banks signed a credit agreement in the amount of up to 700 million dollars A credit agreement was signed between the national company "KazAvtoZhol" and the syndicate of Kazakh banks, including Halik Bank and Eurasia Bank, at a round table on the financing of the road sector and the participation of second-tier banks in the implementation of infrastructure projects. The agreement envisages financing up to $700 million for the refinancing of KazAvtoZhol's current debt to the Kazakhstan Development Bank (KDB). Before that, the national operator received funds from the State Bank of Ukraine to carry out highway repair projects of republican importance. According to the new agreement, the funding will be provided until 2034. Halik Bank is the organizer and the agent bank of the financing in the syndicate. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy, Serik Jumengarin, stated that the agreements reached will allow redistribution of the credit burden between the financial institutions and release part of the KDB credit line to finance new priority infrastructure projects. "The head of state has often emphasized the need for more active participation of second-tier banks in financing the real sector of the economy and the need to attract private capital to carry out large projects. Today we see a concrete example of such an interaction. It is very important here that we do not talk about taking out a new loan for road construction, but about refinancing the bank's existing expenses for this fund and not just increasing the fund's commercial obligations. of the banking sector in infrastructure financing, but also allows the development institute's resources to be directed to the execution of new projects. - noted the deputy prime minister.
