Israel's Channel 12 claims:
Netanyahu and the head of the Mossad planned to carry out an operation inside Iran on the eve of the Israeli elections.
The mistake by one of Israel's security agents made the United States aware of the operation, and Washington quickly intervened to stop the plan.
