The fear and trauma of childhood are staged, but the dramatization becomes reality itself, structured within the surrounding life. The beginning of neurosis is a kind of disappointment. But the true beginning of neurosis is a kind of counter-idea in response to this disappointment. This idea becomes a solid and abstract principle. This is the beginning of the cessation of the natural flow of events. And this response is not an automatic action, but comes from the freedom and creativity of the soul. The very fact, the case of disappointment, is a reason for the soul to come up with a counter-response. But in fact, disappointments can be like clouds that condense, then dissipate and disappear. Neurosis begins when the flow of events stops, the flow of time is delayed, fixation occurs in it, and it is frozen and preserved outside of elapsed time. Carl Gustav Jung
