To move beyond our lives, to return to the challenge of being who we really are when we are not defined by the roles, categories or expectations of others, is the most difficult challenge. To overcome the fear of entering this world as ourselves, I often resort to the old saying: “How would you feel if, on your deathbed, you realized that you are not here as yourself? "No one ever said they would take such grim chances so calmly. This tells me that something inside each of us knows what is right for us and knows when we are not living it right. Our soul can deal with many things - suffering, loss, isolation and much more - if it feels that there is meaning in the suffering. She cannot endure pointless suffering for long or tolerate our compromises with ourselves. As Jung pointed out, even the smallest things that have meaning are infinitely more significant than things that have no meaning.
And the meaning is determined by our soul, not by our culture. James Hollis Carl Gustav Jung.
