Jaafar Mohammadnjad Sigaroodi, deputy of investment and development at the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Association (SATBA), said on Wednesday that the projects could be completed in 45 days, with priority given to qualified local contractors.

The official added that Iran's total renewable energy capacity has grown from about 1,250 megawatts at the start of the current administration to more than 6,300 megawatts, despite sanctions and other restrictions.

In Kurdistan province, 406 schools have been identified for the solar energy project, with construction work already underway in 32 schools, he added.

Sigarudi further noted that the solar energy capacity of the districts exceeded 25 megawatts, compared to 16 megawatts in March 2025, with a goal of reaching at least 40 megawatts by March 2027.
