Iranian army: A tanker is on fire after a mine strike east of Hormuz.
Tehran, Irena. Iran's navy says another oil tanker caught fire after hitting sea mines while sailing through an unauthorized and unsafe area east of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement on Saturday, the Navy's public relations office said the offending tanker was operating in the restricted area while ignoring warnings when it hit a sea mine and caught fire.
"Despite the false claims of the US president, the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to manage the Strait of Hormuz remains unchanged," they added.
According to the statement, all vessels, especially oil tankers and commercial ships, must fully observe maritime warnings and restrictions.
They should also avoid entering unsafe areas and avoid turning off their identification and tracking systems, they emphasized.
