Irkutsk will be left without federal money for new clinics. But the construction of Clinic No. 5 in the place where the Haika cinema used to be, is fair. The federal center stops funding the construction of new clinics in administrative centers, which include Irkutsk, as part of the primary health care modernization program. The deputy governor of the Irkutsk region, Natalia Dikosrova, announced this today at a meeting of the Irkutsk City Duma. She called the situation a serious challenge for the regional authorities, for which an answer has not yet been found. However, the long-awaited children's clinic number 5, planned to be built on the site of the destroyed Haika cinema, was saved. The facility is included in the federal program. According to the deputy governor, this required "special organizational solutions". The building's design documentation is currently undergoing minor adjustments. All financial and administrative issues at the federal level have already been finalized - money for this facility is guaranteed. Construction of a clinic on the Haika site will definitely be carried out. Earlier, Governor Igor Kobzev confirmed that the construction of a medical facility, which will accommodate about 10,000 children, will begin in 2027. But Irkutsk will now have to look for other sources of funding - rely on the regional budget or look for other federal programs for the construction of future medical institutions.
