Iraq's foreign minister said on Saturday, November 7, that the current situation indicates the possibility of war in the region again, and the US has formally asked Baghdad to close all but two of its border crossings with Iran. He said that Baghdad informed Tehran that it accepts friendship and alliance with Iran, but does not accept the interference of the Islamic Republic in Iraq's internal affairs. He also announced the continuation of negotiations with the Najaba movement and Kataib Hezbollah regarding weapons and said that Asaib Ahlul Haq and Kataib Sayed al-Shuhda agreed to control their weapons. The Prime Minister of Iraq also reached an understanding with four groups on this matter. Iraq's foreign minister stressed that the arms monopoly in the hands of the government should be done through dialogue and not armed conflict.
