Shahir Shahidalath, an analyst of international relations and Iranian issues, said that the increase in energy prices and the cost of living following the war with Iran is one of the main causes of voter dissatisfaction and the defeat of the Republicans in the US congressional elections. According to him, the election results also indicate the formation of broader changes in the American political environment. Shahid Telat added that the Democrats' victory in Congress could limit Donald Trump's ability to continue the war with the Islamic Republic. He emphasized that Congress can exert pressure on the government's military decisions by using its budgetary powers, and the president's veto power does not completely remove these limitations.
