The Iranian Football Association has announced the schedule for the national team's two warm-up matches in November 2026. The students of Amir Kalnawi are going to face the national teams of Palestine and Iraq in the city of Basra, Iraq. According to the official website of the football association, the national team will leave for Iraq on Tuesday, November 10, and on Saturday, November 14, they will play a first warm-up match against Palestine. Iran's second match will be held on November 17 against the Iraqi team. In the same schedule, Iraq will meet Lebanon on November 13 and Lebanon will meet Palestine on November 17. These games, which were supposed to take place in the form of a tournament, have been removed from tournament status and the teams will play separate warm-up games. The announcement of this plan is made in a situation where the Asian Football Confederation postponed the holding of the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia for about a year due to the security developments in the region. These competitions were supposed to take place in December and in Bahman 1405, but with the cancellation of the previous schedule, the competition was postponed to the end of 2027 and the beginning of 2028.
