Sajjad Razavi, the deputy medical director of the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced on Monday, November 2, that the number of burn beds in Iran is almost half of the required standard, and the number of special burn treatment beds in the country is also low. He also warned that about 50% of Iran's hospitals face safety challenges due to wear and tear and structural problems.

Razavi said at the World Burns Week conference held at the Ministry of Health headquarters that currently there are approximately 12 to 13 level three centers operating in Israel to provide special burn services and approximately 23 to 24 level two centers.

He added that despite the activity of these centers, some districts still lack the centers needed to treat burn patients, and the capacity of dedicated beds and special care for burns does not meet the needs of the state.

The deputy director of the Ministry of Health also warned about the safety situation in the hospitals and said that about half of the hospitals in Israel face challenges from a safety point of view due to old age and infrastructure problems. According to Razavi, the condition of the buildings and infrastructure of some hospitals is such that their security against fire requires basic measures.
