The British newspaper "Telegraph" reported on Thursday, November 7 that the Islamic Republic is preparing an operation to disrupt the American midterm elections after trying to interfere in the elections in Israel. According to Iranian officials who spoke to this newspaper, Tehran's goal is to create a political deadlock in America and Israel.
The "Telegraph" quoted several officials in the Islamic Republic and wrote that Tehran sees holding elections in America and Israel at the same time as a rare opportunity to influence the political structure of these two countries.
One of these officials told the "Telegraph": "We looked at ways to involve our agents in the election processes of the American and Israeli governments."
He added: "Strong cyber groups were also established to hack their election systems."
Referring to the war in Iran, another official said: "We are ready to disrupt the elections, the banking system, transportation and all their normal systems. "We do not support any candidate in any country, but we want to see a divided American and a divided Israeli."
