The New York Times reported on Monday, November 4 that the US military trained Apache attack helicopter pilots in an exercise in Germany to intercept and shoot down drones similar to those seen by Iran. This exercise was conducted in order to test the effectiveness of Apache helicopters in dealing with UAV threats in new wars.

According to the New York Times, the Apache helicopters of the US Army's 159-2nd Assault Battalion intercepted the Otella propeller-driven UAV during the Skyfall 2 exercise at the Grafenwohr Training Center in Germany.

The wingspan of these UAVs is about 3.35 meters, which is almost equal to the long-range Shahid attack UAVs used by Iran and Russia.

This newspaper wrote that Shahid's drones, despite their relatively low speed and simple design, managed to get through the American air defense systems and were responsible for almost all the losses of the American forces up to this point in the war with Iran.

US military officials say that Apache could be part of the anti-UAV system.
