Agence France-Presse reported that these sailors were brought ashore on Saturday and Sunday, the second and third of November, through the port of Galle, 115 kilometers south of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka has confirmed that it has made the necessary arrangements to transfer the sailors in need of medical treatment to Israel.

"We coordinated the transfer of these salts and fulfilled our humanitarian obligations," said Tushara Rodrigo, a spokeswoman for the ministry. The costs were also borne by the Iranian embassy.

According to the AFP news agency, nearly 12 empty Iranian oil tankers are anchored near the port of Galla.
