Iranian media reported that the Iranian national judo team missed the opportunity to participate in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam due to the United Arab Emirates not issuing visas to its members. Iran's national judo team had previously registered to participate in this competition and was supposed to face its opponents on November 7 and 8, but despite making the necessary arrangements, the national team's visa was not issued and the team's launch was cancelled. The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam is one of the most important judo competitions, and participating in it can be effective in gaining points and improving the athletes' position in the Olympic rankings. In this way, Iranian judokas lost the opportunity to gain points in this international event. This happened while Kuwait had not issued visas to members of Iran's national rowing team before.
