According to the "Maariv" newspaper, the investigation of the Hebron operation shows that there was a prior request to demolish the buildings surrounding the checkpoint that the operation achieved, but the demolition was not carried out due to a "lack of machinery", describing what was happening as "negligence". In other words, from the beginning we intended to destroy the buildings, and not destroying them is neither mercy nor forgiveness towards the Palestinians. Their criminal art already exists, so demolition is not a response. To confirm this, demolition orders were distributed to the building's owners 10 days before the operation.
