Mehdi Zahadi, the head of the cultural and social committee of the Turbat Hadaria city council, resigned from his position following the "Saffron Festival" and critical reactions to this event.
The Fars news agency reported that the saffron festival "Haidaria Culture" was held on Thursday, November 6, at the cultural and historical complex of Qutbuddin Haidar. During the concert performance of Sina Drakhshanda, several women appeared in this ceremony without the obligatory hijab.
Following these events, Muhammad Malami, the Friday imam of Torbat Hadaria, criticized some of the plans for this celebration on November 6 in his Friday prayer sermons and said that instead of a celebration of joy and vitality, this ceremony became a "celebration of sin and sin."
He also pointed out the coincidence of this ceremony with the days of Fatmia and the presence of the body of an unknown person killed in the city, and criticized the expenses and contents of the celebration plans.
