Said Jalili, the representative of the leader of the Islamic Republic in the Supreme National Security Council, referring to the views expressed regarding the resumption of negotiations with the US, said that Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic, clearly stated after the 12-day war that negotiations with Washington are not only useless on the nuclear issue "but also useless".

Jalili referred to Ali Khamenei's televised speech on Oud 1, 1404 and said that the former leader of the Islamic Republic considered negotiations with the United States useless and harmful in this speech, citing the experience of the JCPOA. In that speech, Khamenei said that negotiations with America under the conditions at that time would not benefit the Islamic Republic and could bring "great and even irreversible damages."

Jalili added that the 10-year experience of the JCPOA showed that, according to him, repeating such a path would not lead to a different result. Referring to Khamenei's words, he said that despite the implementation of the Islamic Republic's nuclear commitments, the sanctions have not been lifted and Iran's nuclear file has not returned to normal.

The former leader of the Islamic Republic, in his speech at the first of Mehr 1404, also described the negotiations with the United States on the nuclear program and "perhaps other issues" as a "dead end" and said that these negotiations are "absolutely harmful" to the Islamic Republic.
