Befal Jalal Talabani, head of the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan, announced in a video message on Thursday, November 5, that his party will withdraw from the government of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq and will not recognize the government or officials who took office as a result of the recent decisions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
Talabani said the Patriotic Union had visited Erbil more than 15 times and talked with Kurdistan Democratic Party officials to form a new government, but these efforts were unsuccessful. He accused this party of disregarding the people's vote, buying MPs and threatening them.
The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan criticized the performance of the regional government and said: "This government has failed." He added: "The first decision of the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is that we withdraw from this failed government that calls itself the government of Kurdistan."
