Disturbing photos of cutting down and burning trees in the Shi'an Forest Park in Tehran A group of citizens and environmentalists, by posting videos on social networks, published photos of the condition of several trees in the Shi'an Forest Park in Tehran, which show the cutting down or burning of some of them. One of the members of this group of nature lovers says that following the issue of an official, the reason for cutting down the trees and the resulting situation is pest infestation. However, so far no documented details have been published about the type of pest, the number of trees damaged, the scope of the activity and the permits given to cut them down. In recent years, the situation of the forest parks in Tehran has become one of the capital's serious environmental problems due to the drying of the trees, lack of water resources and the spread of pests.
