The Iranian Human Rights Organization announced Tuesday in a report that the Islamic Republic executed at least 77 people in October this year, and including the statistics, the number of executions approved in the first 10 months of 2026 reached at least 691 people. According to this report, only close to 14.5% of the executions were announced by the government's official sources, and among those executed this year you can see the names of three child criminals (under 18 years old at the time of the crime), 23 women, 28 foreign nationals, 36 arrested protesters and 15 political prisoners. Referring to the systematic denial of the accused a fair trial and the government's attempt to "silence the voices of the opposition and hide the violations of the security forces", the director of this institution, Mahmoud Amiri-Mogdam, emphasized that three of those executed in October died on the charge of murdering the policemen by the policemen, while the policemen were reckless. Calling these statistics catastrophic, he asked the international community to take immediate action to stop the "government murders".
