Amir Hayat Mogdam, vice chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized that "we strive to increase the range of the missiles," and said that during the vote of confidence he asked the Minister of Defense to "definitely pursue this and produce intercontinental missiles for us" so that US territory would be within range. He said, "In practice, the Defense Ministry and the Revolutionary Guards are ready to produce 6,000-kilometer missiles at some point, and at the next stage we will move to 10,000-, 12-, and 15,000-kilometer missiles with a longer range to reach the United States itself.
