Abbas Arjechi, the Islamic Republic's foreign minister, said in a call to reporters on Sunday, November 1, that his deputy, who had gone to Doha to continue consultations with America, would return to Tehran. Referring to consultations through Qatari mediators, Argachi said the Islamic Republic's proposed plan was "initially 7 days, and now it has become a 2-day plan" and Tehran is still negotiating about it. Earlier, in a conversation with Al Jazeera, Argachi confirmed the presence of a delegation from Iran led by the Deputy Foreign Ministry in Doha. The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic said: "This path is progressing and consultations are taking place, but we have not reached a final conclusion yet." Argachi added that reaching or not reaching a result depends on the answers to many questions that have yet to be determined. He expressed hope that the other side would prefer diplomacy over other ways and emphasized: "We are fully prepared for other ways as well." Mohsen Razai, the secretary of the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, announced on Saturday evening in a conversation with Sedavasima that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on Washington's agreement to Iran's seven conditions.
