On the evening of Saturday October 31, following the call of the protest groups, hundreds of people took to the streets in the cities of Zurich and Basel, Switzerland, gatherings inspired by youth demonstrations in France and other European countries, and then led to clashes with police forces and the burning of street barriers. In Zurich, the rally started around 22:30 in the Chahar Shahar area and around the Longstrasse street. The participants, some of whom wore special costumes and masks for Halloween, then proceeded to Helvetia Square.
