Binance Exchange, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced that it has refunded approximately 95% of the assets stolen from the platform using its own financial resources, following one of the largest cyber attacks in the history of the cryptocurrency market. According to Binance, during the cyber attack on Thursday, October 29, approximately $6.3 billion in digital assets were removed from the exchange's wallets. Analytics firm TRM Labs estimated the exact value of the assets at about $6.36 billion. The attack targeted Binance wallets across 10 different blockchain networks in about 20 minutes. Binance initially announced that it had secured about 80% of the affected assets, and the amount reached 90% in an announcement on Saturday, October 31. However, in the company's latest announcement on Sunday, November 1, the asset recovery rate was set at approximately 95%. The remaining five percent are related to lower-liquidity cryptocurrencies, which require more time to purchase in the required volume.
