Earlier, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said security officials had detected calls for people to dress up in Halloween costumes and attend rallies aimed at starting a "revolution" on Saturday night. The French Ministry of the Interior announced the number of participants in the national demonstrations at around 15,000. The police arrested 27 people by 14:00. French authorities have deployed around 70,000 security forces to prevent a repeat of the unrest two weeks ago. Similar demonstrations were held in Marseille, Toulouse, Lyon and Nantes. The demonstrators criticize the cost of living, economic inequality and restrictions on the right to protest.
