Toshisuke Kanazawa, a 90-year-old Japanese bodybuilder, traveled to the city of Santa Susanna in Spain on Friday, November 8, and participated in bodybuilding competitions in the over-50 veteran category. Despite the significant age difference with the other contestants, he went through all the stages of preparation like his younger competitors. According to Reuters, Kanazawa practiced with his teammates before taking the stage and facing the judges after using a spray tan. According to him, by continuing to participate in competitions, he wants to show that aging is not necessarily an obstacle to sports competitions. This Japanese athlete attributes his health and longevity to his country's traditional diet. According to him, eating brown rice, natto, fermented soybeans and miso soup helped keep him healthy and kept him disease-free for decades. Kanazawa expressed his satisfaction with his performance despite not finishing in the top three of the tournament. He hopes that his participation in these competitions will encourage others to remain active even in old age and strive to achieve their goals.
