The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization (UKMTO) issued an alert on Friday saying it had received a confirmed report of an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, according to which a crude oil tanker had been hit by an "unknown missile" while leaving the international waterway. In its announcement, while indicating the continuation of the investigation into the details of this attack, this organization recommended that all passing vessels travel with absolute caution and immediately report any suspicious activity to the maritime authorities. This organization previously reported that an "unknown missile" hit the left side of a vessel about 74 km south of Lawan Island in Iran.
